Since Easter Sunday of 2009 the flame of passion within my heart has burned brighter. But first, a little explanation. When we resigned from the church in New Bern we moved back to Georgia for the birth of our grand-daughter Andromeda. She is now eight years and entering third grade next week. In those eight years I had lost much of the passion that I felt when I was first called to preach.
On moving back to NC, I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with a man who became both a good friend and an encouragement to me...he made me believe that I was not a "has been". Bobby Norton, along with the members of his congregation, New Life Fellowship fanned the flame of the fire in my heart. And then God opened the door to minister to a unique "congregation". We all know that people buy campers and motorhomes to be able to vacation and get away from it all, right? Well, there are many who miss attending their home church and desire a place to worship and feel welcome...we don't always bring our "church" clothes when camping.
So, Ocean Aire Chapel has been birthed because both the owners of the campground; those who vacation and live here; and myself listened to the call of the Spirit. Our attendance has ranged from 30 to 46 persons and the love of God and the worship of the Lord flows freely. While ministering on Rainbow Deck by the pond I feel as if the flame in my heart rivals the brightness of the Oak Island Light...
More later.
