You know, having grand-kids and being a Papa is great. At least most of the time. Let me tell you what I mean. Two of our grand-kids live in Holden Beach just a mile from where we live. Our other grandchildren live in other states and we have not even seen them all but I am sure that they are just like the two that live near us. One eight year old girl and a two year old boy.
I spent the day with them at the swimming pool today. Just grandpa, granddaughter, and grandson. What a lovely picture! What a lovely picture? What am I talking about. Being splashed and pulled in all directions. Making sure I am not paying more attention to one than the other. The two year old hollering every ten minutes that he has to go potty and the eight year old wanting to buy more candy. Cokes being spilled on the ground and swimming floats and tubes blowing away in the wind. Boy, was I having fun.
After three frantic calls to their mother to make sure she was on the way to get them--I began to really have a good time. The sun doing a number on my back and my skin wrinkling like a dried up dead frog really made me realize how much fun I was having. In fact I had so much fun today I don't what I am going to do tomorrow.
You want to borrow some grand-kids for a day? It'll be fun!
