Old Preachers Just Fade Away

General Douglas McArthur stood in the halls of Congress and proclaimed "old soldiers never die, they just fade away". For the nation and, indeed, the world a saying that reflected the spirit of the soldier. His life had been lived in service to his country and now at the end of his career he felt that his life was fading away.

In a sense, I know how the General felt. For much of my life I proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the pulpits of many churches and even in foreign lands. But in 1996 my life started to fade away. I suffered an injury that has in the last fourteen years taken away many of the activities and hobbies that I enjoyed. But the greatest loss was being able to actively pastor a congregation. I was fading away...fading away...fading away.

Now the light that had faded away has begun to burn brightly again. We live in Ocean Aire Travel Park year round and the Lord saw a need for people in the park to worship. Now the light burns...more tomorrow.
